Once again, the UK manufacture and retail action sports industry event, Slide, takes place at the International Centre, Telford from 22-24 January 2019.
According to the organisers, Rare Management, 98.7 percent of the area of last January’s show is now sold, and they are hopeful that they will surpass last year’s total area, with the number of exhibitors already exceeded. There are currently 86 exhibitors (total at the last show was 84), a number of whom are either new altogether or returning after an absence.
One of the returning exhibitors is MaxTrax, distributors of Never Summer snowboards. Their presence at Slide is due to the SIGB Ski Test opening up to snowboard suppliers this coming winter. Other snowboard brands attending the trade event include: Gnu, Lib Tech, Capita, Nidecker, Endeavour, Ride, K2 and Salomon.
There are a number of brand-new exhibitors attending Slide for the first time, bringing a range of product, from child-specific clothing from Dinoski, to Red Bull SPECT eyewear and a range of other products in between.
They include: Haago (hand warmers), OneSkee (onesies), Boot Doc (boot-fitting), G3 skis and G-10 Gloves, Silverpoint Outdoor (pullovers, socks, torches), Grangers (waterproofing materials), Gogglesoc (goggle bags), Wildside Trading (Eider clothing), Zanier (gloves), FAM clothing, Dinoski (children’s ski wear), and Red Bull SPECT (eyewear).
One of the brands to massively increase their space at Slide is one of the UK’s biggest distributors, Bradshaw Taylor. Their brand portfolio includes Black Diamond, Pieps, Schoffel clothing and Icebreaker merino base/midlayers.
Sales Director at Bradshaw Taylor, Sonia Prior, commented: “We made the decision to substantially increase our presence at Slide in recognition of our development in the market. For FW19 we can offer our customers more from these authentic brands including some excellent innovation. The UK snowsport market remains a key focus for us and Slide is a great place to meet key industry buyers”.
Visitor Registration for the show is free and is open online here: www.slideuk.co.uk/visitor-tickets
Exhibitors will be entering their best products into the Slide Show Awards. There are four categories of Awards: Hardware, Software, Accessories – and for the best newcomer, the Fresh Brand Award. Entries will be displayed throughout the show in a dedicated display area and specialist retailers, media and opinion-leaders will be voting for their favourites on the first day of the show.
Slide opens on Tuesday 22 January and at the end of the show, the show owners are inviting all attendees to join them in the show’s central café for a drink. It’s a chance to network, meet friends, competitors and to welcome industry-newcomers in an informal environment. On Wednesday evening, there is the AGM of the SIGB (Snowsport Industries of Great Britain), the organisation that owns and runs Slide, an Open Forum where all are welcome to have their say, and the presentation of the Slide Awards.
