Back in February, PrimaLoft invited retailers from all over Europe to swap their slightly used winter jackets for a new PrimaLoft® Gold Insulation Down Blend jacket. The company then donated the used coats to the St. Bonifaz homeless charity, located in Munich.
PrimaLoft can now reveal that a grand total of 300 jackets and coats were collected, providing warmth for homeless people in the Munich area. In addition to donating to this excellent cause, the swap campaign also enabled dealers to try out the new PrimaLoft® Performance Down Blend products before they go on sale this autumn in their stores. The inspirational campaign was also awarded the Italian ‘Snow Industry Award’ in the category ‘Best Charity Initiative’.
“It was a fantastic initiative designed to combine a good cause with the opportunity to experience the high-performance functionality of PrimaLoft® Performance Down Blend. By trying out the product for ourselves, we are able to give our customers authentic advice and increase our knowledge of the new technology,” says Heiner Oberrauch jr., Product Manager at Sportler.
Simone Heer from Globetrotter Munich was equally impressed: “We welcome this opportunity to help a good cause. The PrimaLoft® Performance Down Blend jacket got me warmly through winter, both on my bike and on foot, and is superbly comfortable to wear. We’ll of course be factoring these test results into our sales pitches”.
According to Brother Prior Emmanuel Rotter from the St. Bonifaz homeless charity, around 200 homeless people a day contact him to ask for help and assistance in the form of medical care, food, clothing, etc. Brother Emmanuel was delighted by the donations and expressed his gratitude for the number of people who took part. “We want to give our guests a little bit of home, warmth and value and our guests have shown true appreciation for their coats.”
