With the upcoming launch of the Polartec® Power Fill™ fabric, we consider how this new technology could revolutionise the way customers stay warm without the weight. Just in time for Autumn 2017, brands will be able to design products that incorporate the new technology ready for customer use.
With an already impressive collection of insulating fabrics including the Alpha range, Polartec® has dedicated time to creating a product that regulates temperature whilst also retaining a high level of resilience against damages.
Designed with soft, pliable polyester yarns that allow for a hollow fibre construction that is both resilient and supple, the air pockets hold body heat and create an effective barrier between the colder air outside of the fabric and the warmth of the body on the inside.
An illustration of the material demonstrates a clear focus upon an innovative solution to designing a textile that can achieve a regulated temperature without adding unnecessary weight to those traversing the outdoors.
By ensuring that the fabric adheres to both of those qualities, an answer has been found to problems that many explorers have faced. The constant changes in temperature in freezing climates require clothing that can keep up and react.
Made using a distinctive melting process, the hollow fibres are bonded together increasing the flexibility and with cruelty-free, 80% post-consumer recycled content, customers who are environmentally conscious will find comfort in a product that is efficient and sustainable.
