Whitby & Co, the outdoor accessories distributor, has confirmed the appointment of John Alexander as national sales manager. It is a new position for the Kendal-based business that has seen strong growth in the last two years, taking on a number of new, award-winning brands including BioLite, Klean Kanteen, and SteriPen.
Garry Woodhouse, Whitby & Co Sales and Marketing Director, said: “Whitby & Co has seen steady growth in the last few years and the time was right to examine the business’ operations structure.
“John has played a significant role in developing new and existing customer relationships during his time with Whitby & Co. He will now be better placed to oversee the entire operation as the business seeks to consolidate on the success of recent years.”
It follows the appointment of a number of new staff within the warehouse, sales office and marketing department in recent months.
In a move to strengthen its network of field based reps and improve customer service, a second new role has been created – Richard Dee will manage the Midlands area, previously covered by the Kendal office.
“Richard Dee’s appointment to the Midlands role will allow Whitby &Co to further improve service in an area of strategic importance and it is very satisfying to see new staff joining the team in Kendal,” commented Woodhouse.
