Skelton will endorse Karrimor’s running and outdoor products, including apparel, footwear, accessories, equipment and the recently launched Karrimor Elite running app. As part of her role as brand ambassador, Helen will input into product design, development and testing and subsequently put them through the ultimate test on her future adventures.
The former-Blue Peter presenter has previously taken part in an ultra-marathon and kayaked the entire length of the Amazon for Sport Relief. Skelton also became the first person to use a bike as part of an expedition to the South Pole. The 31-year-old also set a new world record for the fastest 100km by kite ski – in seven hours 28 minutes.
Helen said: “I’m delighted to join the Karrimor team. I’ve used the brand’s products for years so to formally become part of such a successful running and outdoor brand is really exciting. I’m looking forward to inputting into the design and development of the products. It’s something I take a natural interest in, so it’s fantastic to now be involved in an official capacity.”
Dave Newbury, Head of Brand Marketing for Karrimor, said: “We’re always looking to align with personalities who have a natural synergy with our brands. Helen is an adventurous and courageous explorer and is a great fit for Karrimor from both a running and outdoor brand perspective. We are incredibly proud of Karrimor’s heritage and reputation and believe that Helen’s active lifestyle and passion for outdoor pursuits is in keeping with our ethos.”
