On 3 February 2019, ISPO Munich will open its doors once again. Over four days, the outdoor and sports sector will meet at the world’s biggest trade fair for sports goods. These 10 tips will help to make your visit a success!
- How to get to ISPO Munich
Once you arrive at the airport, you have two options: either you take a shuttle bus straight to ISPO Munich (single ticket €9, return ticket €15) or you take the S-Bahn. Both S-Bahn train lines will take you to the city centre. In the centre, you must change onto the U2 (towards Messestadt Ost) which takes you straight to the trade fair site. Remember to purchase an MVV ticket (ideally a day ticket). This is not included in your ISPO Munich ticket.
- Getting from A to B
ISPO Munich is as big as 28 football pitches. You can easily get out of breath if you walk around the site all day long. However, you don’t need to go everywhere on foot. At all four entrances, you’ll find a free shuttle that travels around the trade fair site. There is also the Expressway over the B halls. It’s very useful if walking through the busy halls proves too slow.
- Cloakroom and luggage storage
Less is more. Leave any luggage that you don’t need either in your hotel or in the cloakrooms. You’ll find these at all the entrances. If you fly with Lufthansa, you can hand in your luggage at the handy baggage drop-off at the west entrance on your day of departure. You’ll then get it back when you arrive at your destination airport.
The good news: WiFi is available free of charge during ISPO Munich. It’s available in the halls, the entrances and the atrium. Simply select the messeWifi network, confirm the T&Cs and get surfing.
Your network is your most important asset. You should therefore try to establish as many contacts as possible at ISPO Munich. You’ll find the ISPO Munich App with the brand-new networking option very useful here. The digital platform offers ideal opportunities to make contact with decision-makers from the sector during and after the trade fair. The app is free to download now ahead of the show.
- What to bring
If you wear comfortable shoes, you’ll not only fit in with the other visitors dressed in casual, sporty clothes – you’ll be doing yourself a favour too. After all, you’ll walk many kilometres at ISPO Munich. To keep a cool head at all times, you should also drink plenty of water. Business cards are essential too for effortless networking.
- Places for business talks
Naturally, there’s always a lot going on at the world’s biggest trade fair for sports goods. However, peace and quiet are also needed for business talks. Depending on the segment in which you do business, you can use one of eight Focus Areas. Here, you can hold business discussions over a coffee without being disturbed. Visitors with the ISPO Card can also use the exclusive ISPO Card Lounge.
- Don’t miss it!
For the first time ever, ISPO Munich will occupy all halls at the trade fair site. The new hall C6 is a particular highlight. Here you can find out what will be trendy in the future. After all, the hall houses the trends, innovation and industry services segment. Here you’ll find ISPO Digitize, ISPO’s innovative and futuristic digital platform, and you can enjoy exciting presentations and discussions every day on the ISPO Academy stage.
- ISPO Munich Sports Week and Night Run
During ISPO Munich, the whole of Munich goes sports crazy! The ISPO Munich Night Run – urban trail running through the Olympiapark – will take place on 2 February, the day before the trade fair begins. Don’t miss it! You’ll also find a whole host of activities and special offers during the ISPO Munich Sports Week (2-9 February 2019) – from shopping discounts to yoga courses.
